X-Tile

For Exasun, I designed the X-Tile solar panel, an innovative system that seamlessly integrates solar panels with roof tiles to create an aesthetic and efficient energy roof. The X-Tile system offers a sleek, modern look by aligning perfectly with Wienerberger’s ceramic Actua roof tiles, resulting in a calm, uniform roof appearance where the solar panels are subtly and elegantly integrated.

For this project, I developed a custom mounting system with ease of installation as the top priority. I used aluminum and rubber extrusion profiles combined with stainless steel clips, ensuring a secure and precise fit. Additionally, waterproofing and resistance to wind loads were central to the design, creating a durable and robust energy roof suitable for various weather conditions. With X-Tile solar panels and Actua roof tiles, this system achieves a stylish, solid roof with a high-quality finish.
